SAM4 monitors
- AC induction motors (any manufacturer)
- Low voltage (<690V) and medium/high voltage (>690V)
- Direct online, soft starter, and VFD-driven motors
- Motors from 1 kW upward
- Motors operating at as little as 5% of rated load
Current scope boundaries
- DC motors and servo motors are not supported
- 2-pole synchronous motors require technical assessment
- Assets operating less than 10 hours per month lack sufficient data
- Duty cycles under 5 minutes provide insufficient signal
- For VFD-driven motors, power quality upstream of the VFD is not visible to SAM4.
- Partial discharge detection not available for MV assets

Inconclusive, not applicable, and unresolved outcomes are excluded from the metric denominators. Reviewed quarterly. Methodology: SAM4 alert issued, field verification by customer or Samotics service engineer, outcome logged.
